The Council on Ethics welcomes Anna Warberg and Alexander Elving as Sustainability Specialists, completing the reinforced Council secretariat headed by Jenny Gustafsson.
Anna and Alexander both have extensive experience of sustainability analysis and active ownership. Anna has most recently led and developed the collaborative engagement services on behalf of global institutional investors at ISS ESG, and has previously also led the analysis of corporate controversies and incidents. She has a background in labour rights analysis. Alexander joins the Council from Länsförsäkringar Liv, where he has focused on active ownership in the institutional portfolios – including through international investor initiatives – as well as evaluation of external managers. He also has experience of analysis in sustainability and natural resources.
Within the Council’s focus areas, Alexander will lead on anti-microbial resistance and climate transition, whereas Anna will focus on child and forced labour as well as water.
Since 2007, the First, Second, Third, and Fourth AP Funds (AP1, AP2, AP3 and AP4) have been coordinating their work on environmental and ethical issues through the joint the Council on Ethics. During 2024 the Council will further develop its focus areas for proactive engagement as well as continue its reactive, norms-based, engagements.
