
Responsible ownership through dialogue and engagement
The Council on Ethics of the AP Funds is a collaboration between the First, Second, Third, and Fourth Swedish National Pension Funds (AP Funds). The role of the Council on Ethics is to encourage companies to make improvements in sustainability and to support the AP Funds in complex sustainability areas.

The role of the Council on Ethics is to encourage companies to make improvements in sustainability and to support the AP Funds in complex sustainability areas that are of great importance to people, the environment, and society, and create value in companies. The Council on Ethics works both reactively, acting on signals of severe violations in the AP Funds’ portfolios, and proactively to address prioritised sustainability risks in five focus areas.

Twice a year the Council on Ethics conducts a screening of foreign listed shares and credits in the AP Funds’ portfolios, in order to identify signals about violations.
