The Ethical Council moderated discussion covering corporate and investor work with CDP’s climate data

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) annual questionnaire on corporate prevention work on climate change is often in focus. Companies have ideas about what is relevant in the form and everyone are curious about how investors use the information.
The Ethical Council acted as moderator at this year’s discussion with Electrolux and Norges Bank, which reported how they integrate the information to their managers. It was a good discussion, where Electrolux highlighted the fact that they never get questions about the CDP at investor meetings.

Ethical Council highlighted other examples where the data is used in portfolio-wide processes and not always in individual dialogues. Electrolux also pointed out the need to focus data collection to where it is relevant and material, which CDP noted.
